Bio

Brendan O’Brien in the mountains.

Brendan O’Brien is a writer-director of narrative fiction. He grew up in Red Deer, Alberta, and began working on film sets as a production assistant in Calgary and Vancouver. He later spent time studying at the Łódź Film School in Poland.

Alongside his narrative work, he has made documentary films in collaboration with the UN World Food Programme, IsraAID, and other NGOs in countries including Tajikistan, Kenya, and Guatemala. He is currently focused on writing and directing narrative films.

Emily (2018) filmed in Alberta, Canada and screened at the Cannes Short Film Corner. Adok (2022) was made on 35mm film with cinematographer, Luca Zonca at the National Film School in Łódź, Poland.
